I have been working with digital content, in some form or another, since before social media was called social media.
Graduating from Edinburgh Napier University with a degree in multimedia technology I went on to be Content Manager for Scotland’s first mobile content sales and delivery platform, before retraining in media, and finally combining my passions for digital content and communication into a Master’s Degree in Multimedia Journalism.
Since graduating I have worked in marketing with major brands, including Skype, Premier Inn, BT, Confused.com, Starwood, Admiral, National Trust and others.
From 2012 to 2014 I worked with Yes Scotland on the Yes campaign’s digital and social media offering, where I helped to turn the flagging digital element around and turn it in to the lauded on-line success that it was despite the failure of the overall campaign. Both Yes and No campaigners alike continue to congratulate me and the digital team on our achievements, even now.
My resume is an interesting one and every job I have ever held has built a skill-set ideally suited for work in the digital age. From writing copy for blogs, news, feature articles, to filming for TV or online, to search engine optimization and writing HTML and CSS, I have a firm grasp of the technical elements of digital media.
Add to this media training and experience, social media strategy creation and implementation, content strategy and email marketing, and I have what I believe to be a uniquely complete set of skills tailored to my chosen industry.
